I wanted to build an awareness of the universal meaning of what it is to be human. I found it in the unabashed expressions of love and hope in the face of overwhelming sadness. Purposely playing with light and dark, highlights and shadows within the medium of the black & white photography. It's that starkness that urges me on to search for more.
